The following information has been provided by area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Wednesday, Nov. 29, Clayton 230001402: The theft of delivery package containing a men’s watch valued at $100 was reported on Cotillion Court.

Thursday, Nov. 30, Clayton 230001403: Theft was reported at Cassano’s Pizza. The business was assessed approximately $1,000 in credit card charge back fees. The orders were placed from an apartment in Englewood.

Clayton 230001406: A resident reported that $5,000 had been withdrawn from his bank account at a PNC Bank location in Laketon, Mich. A cashier’s check was issued to a person that had an I.D. that contained all of the victim’s correct information, but the photo did not match. The victim had the funds restored to his account and then closed the account.

Clayton 230001407: During a traffic stop Alford D. McCloud, 43, of Dayton 45414, was arrested on two warrants out of Montgomery County and transported to the county jail.

Friday, Dec. 1, Clayton 230001412: Studebaker Electric reported a business check totaling more than $22,856 was deposited into an unintended account by an unknown subject. The original check totaling $856 was sent to Lyons Electrical Supply but was somehow intercepted and tampered with to change the amount of the check to $22,856 and deposited into an account belonging to Arlexus Starks in Starkville, Mississippi. Lyons Electrical reported it had other checks stolen around the same date of Oct. 13.

Clayton 230001413: The theft of a delivery package from a front porch was reported in the 7800 block of Volk Dr.

Friday, Dec. 8, Brookville 2300525: A semi on W. Campus Boulevard backed into a vehicle damaging its headlight and scratching its bumper. The semi then fled the scene.

Brookville 2300526: A backpack stolen from a vehicle at Brookhaven was found in the roadway in the 7600 block of Brookville Salem Road. The rightful owner came to retrieve the property but advised a purse included in the belongings did not belong to her.

Saturday, Dec. 9, Brookville 2300527: A Wright Patt debit Visa card belonging to a subject named Tracy Fowler was found at the water dispenser at McMaken’s IGA and brought to the police department. Police were unsuccessful in finding a good phone number for Fowler and are holding the card in the property room.

Sunday, Dec. 10, Brookville 2300529: A 2021 KIA Forte reported stolen out of Trotwood was found disabled on the shoulder of the roadway near Westbrook Road and Mosier Parkway. The vehicle was impounded.

Brookville 2300532: Police investigated an email allegedly sent by a Russian terrorist organization to the principal of Brookville High School. The email stated terrorists had planted explosives at multiple American schools. Police conducted a safety check of the schools. Nothing was located or appeared suspicious.

Monday, Dec. 11, Brookville 2300534: An unknown subject poured Diesel Exhaust Fluid into the hydraulic oil tank on an excavator in the Hunters Run subdivision.

Brookville 2300535: A male subject was issued a notice of criminal trespass at Family Dollar.

Brookville 2300536: A male subject was issued a notice of criminal trespass at McMaken’s IGA.

Tuesday, Dec. 12, Brookville 2300537: A male subject that was criminally trespassed from McMaken’s IGA returned to the store. William R. Pollard, 36, of Brookville, was charged with criminal trespass and transported to the county jail.

Wednesday, Dec. 13, Brookville 2300539: Brandon A. Akers, 46, of Eaton, was arrested in Preble County on a warrant out of Brookville for making false alarms. Akers was turned over to a Brookville officer and transported to jail.
