Blevins named park board president

BROOKVILLE — Adam Blevins was re-elected as park board president while Loren Wilson was re-elected as vice president for 2024.

City manager Sonja Keaton informed the park board is receiving a $500 donation from Metronet.

“Metronet, which is the carrier that has been installing the internet throughout Brookville the last couple of years, reached out to me in October and asked if the city has any events they could support,” Keaton said.

Keaton indicated Metronet has a community engagement team “that is continually looking for opportunities to get involved in the community.”

“I shared with them about the Christmas in the Park event and they advised me they will be donating $500,” Keaton said.

Keaton advised the park board the adult softball program at Golden Gate Park recorded a profit at the end of the 2023 season.

“Their profit was $4,454, which is a first in a while. Congratulations to them,” Keaton said.

In other matters, Blevins thanked the businesses and organizations that participated in Christmas in the Park this year.
