The following information has been provided by area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, Dec. 22, Brookville 2300553: Three officers responded to a home in the 9100 block of Dodson Rd. to assist Clay Township with a domestic violence incident. The suspect was located in a trailer on the east side of the property. One officer turned off a generator supplying electricity to the trailer. A male inside announced that he was coming out “armed.” The officers repositioned themselves to prevent possible crossfire. The male opened the trailer door with camo patterned AR-15 rifle in his hand with barrel up pointed towards the open doorway. An officer pointed his department issued firearm at the male. A second officer advised the male to step out and leave his weapon. Another officer advised the male to drop the gun. The male began to walk backwards into the trailer and the door began to close. An officer managed to grab the male, who then placed the AR-15 on the ground. He was informed he was under arrest and while being taken into custody, a camo patterned handgun fell from the male’s chest holster and was kicked away by an officer. Donald Dehart, 58, of Brookville, was charged with domestic violence by Clay Township and transported to the county jail.

Monday, Dec. 25, Brookville 2300559: Ibukun D. Onibokun, 29, of Indianapolis, was charged with failure to obey a traffic control device and seat belt required. Olaoluwa K. Ibidapo, 26, of Lebanon, Ind., was charged with seat belt required. Both were issued a court summons and released.

Clayton 230001523: Paris E. Warren, 29, of Middletown, was arrested on a traffic warrant out of Miami County. She was turned over to a Miami County deputy.

Tuesday, Dec. 26, Brookville 2300560: Police responded to a reported theft of cash from the register by an employee at Waffle House. The business stated it would not press charges if the money was returned. After police contacted the employee she came to the business and returned a large portion of the money. At that point, the case became a civil matter.

Wednesday, Dec. 27, Brookville 2300561: Beau C. Harris, 41, of Brookville, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated and license plate light required. He registered at 0.204 percent on a breath intoxilyzer test. He was issued a court summons and released to a family member.

Thursday, Dec. 28, Brookville 2300562: Marshall A. Hahn, 22, of Thurmont, Md., was charged with driving under suspension and failure to obey traffic control devices. His vehicle was impounded. He was issued a court summons and provided a courtesy ride to Holiday Inn.

Friday, Dec. 29, Brookville 2300564: Nica R. Wissel, 31, of Brookville, was charged with possession of methamphetamine at a residence on Western Avenue and transported to the county jail.

Clayton 230001535: Hope R. Atkinson, 37, of Winchester, Ind., was charged with following too closely during a traffic stop on I-70 just east of Dayton-Greenville Pike. During a vehicle search a plastic bag containing white pills were found. Additional charges are pending the outcome of an analysis of the pills, which were sent to Miami Valley Crime Lab.

Saturday, Dec. 30, Clayton 230001537: An officer observed a vehicle turn south on Main Street from Old Salem Road that was being driven by a subject known to have a suspended license. A traffic stop was made on Main Street near Burgess Avenue. Kristopher B. Chestnut, 42, of Dayton 45414, was charged with driving under suspension and fictitious registration. During a vehicle search a loaded hypodermic needle was found inside a back pack. A second officer located a lightbulb shaped container with a crystalized substance inside consistent with methamphetamine. Possession of narcotics charges are pending a lab analysis.

Clayton 230001539: Aggravated menacing was reported at Mulberry Street Event Center in Randolph Plaza. The suspect fled before officers arrived. Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court for review by a prosecutor.
