CARLISLE — The much-improved Carlisle Indians defeated the Brookville Lady Devils for the second time this season last week by the score of 43-31.

The final score was closer than the first match-up at Brookville but the difference in the game was much the same. Carlisle shot better from the field during the game and parlayed that into the victory.

Carlisle is now 2-5 in the SWBL Buckeye Division, with both wins coming at the expense of Brookville. The Lady Devils dropped to 5-7 on the season and 2-5 in the SWBL Buckeye Division.

Brookville briefly led in the game 6-5. However, the Indians drained a pair of three-point hoops and took the lead for good and were never headed the rest of the game. Carlisle won three of the four periods of play.

The quarter scores in the game were 11-7, 20-11, 32-24, and 43-31. Brookville did get to within four points in the final frame at 32-28, but the Indians then outscored the Lady Devils 11-3 the rest of the game.

Carlisle shot 50 percent from the field during the game making 15 of 30 shots including four of eleven from behind the arc. Brookville shot 30.8 percent making 12 of 39 shots. However, the Blue Devils were only two of 18 from three-point land. Carlisle had more rebounds 27-17 during the game as well.

Brookville did manage to get nine steals during the game and forced 16 turnovers. Despite the efforts Brookville was unable to get any closer than four points early in the final frame of play.

Carlisle was led in scoring by Alaina Eldridge with 15 points. Eldridge also snagged ten rebounds to record a double/double during the game. Brynn Gill tallied 12 points for the tribe during the contest.

Brookville stats show Hunter Gardner leading the way with nine points. Ashlee Haupt was held to five points during the game but did have three steals. Sara Carr added a career high eight points, grabbed five rebounds, and had three steals. Alyssa Lackey scored four markers; Ellie Dafler had two points; Abi Stanoikovich had two points; and Megan Luebke tallied one point.
