Eaton falls to Madison

MIDDLETOWN – A scoreless first quarter put Eaton in a hole it couldn’t get out of as they fell to host Madison, 40-13, on Thursday, Jan. 4.

The Eagles shot just 11 percent (4-for-36) from the field as they dropped to 1-10 overall and 1-6 in the SWBL.

Braeden Borgwardt led the way with four points as Eaton trailed 7-0 after one and 16-8 at the half. Three other players scored two points each.

The Eagles were outscored 19-2 in the third quarter and 24-5 overall in the second half.

Eaton, which played two games at the Dixie Holiday Tournament over the break, is gaining valuable experience by playing up to seven freshmen on the varsity team.

Eaton has played nine of its 11 games on the road and will continue to be road warriors this week.

The Eagles were scheduled to play at Preble Shawnee on Monday, Jan. 8 and will host Brookville on Thursday and Oakwood on Saturday.
