CLAY TOWNSHIP — The township police department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of a full-time police officer.

Starting wage for the position is $20.60 to $21.80 an hour based on previous experience and qualifications.

Paid benefits include health, eye, dental insurance and Health Savings Account (HSA).

Access to deferred compensation program and supplemental insurances are also available.

Employees can earn sick, compensatory, personal, and vacation time.

All uniforms and equipment will be provided.

An application for the position may be obtained at claytownshipoffices.com/police-employment.

Applications may also be obtained at the township office, located at 8207 Arlington Road, Brookville, Ohio.

Electronic applications may be submitted to [email protected].

Interested candidates are asked to include a resume with the electronic or paper application.

In trustee business, trustees approved a contract with New Comfort Heating and Cooling for the servicing of the township’s heating and air conditioning systems.

According to trustee Duane Heuker, the cost of the one-year contract with the HVAC company, located at 8132 Arlington Rd., is $1,032.

HVAC service was previously performed by Seiter Services, of Xenia.

According to township road, bridge and cemetery department superintendent Chris Maleski, New Comfort offers the township more services.

“New Comfort has more services than the other company and I would recommend them,” Maleski said.

“I think they will take the time to make sure everything is up to par,” Maleski added.

Trustee chairman Dale Winner said it makes sense to chose New Comfort if the township will receive more services.

“You are also keeping the dollars in the township because they are located right across the street from the township building,” Heuker said.
