BROOKVILLE — With 224.5 points the Brookville wrestling team placed 2nd Saturday as the Blue Devils hosted the Brookville Invitational with 17 other schools competing.

The Blue Devils had wrestlers place in 10 of the 14 weight classes.

Tippecanoe took 1st place with 11 wrestlers placing to garner 231 points, just six-and-a-half more than Brookville. Preble Shawnee was 3rd with 200.5, Troy 4th with 197 and Valley View 5th with 149.5 in the 18 team field.

Brookville took 1st place at 150 and 285 pounds, 2nd place at 138 and 157, 3rd place at 113 and 175, 4th place at 106 and 165, and 6th place at 126 and 144 pounds.

Luke Dolan (Sr.) pinned Collin Isaac (So.) of Tippecanoe in 3:24 to win the 150 pound weight class.

Trenton Brooks (Jr.) scored a 7-4 decision over James Baker (Jr.) of National Trail to win the heavyweight title.

Tanner Sampson (So.) lost a 13-5 major decision to Aiden Kleinberg (Sr.) of Valley View to place 2nd at 138 pounds.

Branson Esterline (Sr.) placed 2nd at 157 pounds losing by a fall in 2:40 to Riley Nicholls (Jr.) of Tippecanoe.

Hunter Gibson (Jr.) placed 3rd at 113 pounds winning by a fall in 5:49 against Tony Kassis of Indian Hill.

Lucas Horn (So.) placed 3rd at 175 pounds winning by a fall in 4:28 over Amon Dennis (Sr.) of Trotwood-Madison.

Blake Hedges (Jr.) took 4th place at 106 pounds losing by a fall in 3:12 to Parker Stuchell of Tippecanoe.

Jacob Holland (Jr.) placed 4th at 165 pounds losing by a fall in 3:50 to Brent Ballard (Jr.) of Tippecanoe.

Camron Wolf (Fr.) took 6th at 126 pounds losing a 5-2 decision to Logan Schlieman (So.) of Fairborn.

Eli Shockley (Sr.) lost by default to Tug LaMar (Sr.) of Springfield to take 6th at 144 pounds.
