SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The weekend of Jan. 27, the Northmont High School and Middle School Science Olympiad teams competed at the University of Notre Dame. Despite having some really tough competition, and being down several students, the team did a fantastic job.

Fermi Questions – 6th Place – Bennett Stouder & Joel Harvey.

Flight – 10th Place – Hailey Pahl & Payton Anderson.

Geologic Mapping – 4th Place – Payton Anderson & Ely Bush.

Robot Tour – 2nd Place – Ely Bush.

Scrambler – 5th Place – Jacob Hobbs.

Tower – 5th Place – Hailey Pahl & Payton Anderson.

Wind Power – 5th Place – Bennett Stouder & Jacob Hobbs.

The Northmont Middle School team had a tough competition competing against some of the top ranked teams in the nation, but worked hard and stepped up to the challenge.

Overall, Northmont Middle School placed 12th compared to all the other schools at the invitational (33 teams) and 3rd compared to the other schools in our region.

Medals were handed out for places 1st – 6th , and ribbons were handed out 7th – 10th.
