CLAYTON — A shooting on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 2:10 a.m. at the intersection of Union Road and State Route 49 in the city of Clayton has gone unsolved after the victim refused to cooperate with police.

Officer C. Roark had just completed a permit holder check at the Muse Lounge when he heard multiple gunshots in the area. A female approached the Roark’s cruiser and frantically stated that there had just been a shooting involving two vehicles at the intersection.

She stated that she did not see the shooting but said she might have seen a dark colored Nissan sedan near the victim’s vehicle on Union Road that possibly fired shots.

The woman stated that she saw the victim’s vehicle pull back into the parking lot at Muse Lounge from Union Road and witnessed the victim get into another car. She was unsure what type of car the victim got into, but stated she heard someone yelling, “Go to the hospital!”

The witness advised the victim’s vehicle was a white sedan covered with bullet holes and was located in the northwest end of the parking lot.

Officer Roark drove over to the victim’s vehicle and found it to be a 2011 Dodge Charger. Other officers responded to the scene.

A total of 26 nine millimeter shell casings were discovered in and near the intersection by Lt. Nabel. Police found multiple bullet holes in the Charger.

Sgt. Sanders went to Miami Valley Hospital North to speak to the victim, who was identified as a 33-year-old male from West Carrollton. According to Clayton officers, the victim refused to cooperate with identifying the suspect.

The victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound, according to Chief Matt Hamlin.

The Charger was photographed from multiple angles and towed by Englewood Truck. The tow truck driver was instructed not to touch or try to open any of the doors of the Charger and to store it indoors until police processed it for evidence. The Charger was removed with no issues.
