BROOKVILLE — William L. Apple graduated from the Cincinnati Dental College in 1907. In July 1911, he opened a new dentistry parlor in the Bank Building at 132 Market Street (now Bible Baptist Church).

In February 1914, Dr. Apple moved into his new upstairs room in the Spitler Block Building, at 217 Market Street. In September 1915, his brother, Dr. David R. Apple, joined William in the dentistry business.

While continuing his dental practice, Dr. William Apple and Edward P. Landis, in 1916, opened a business in Eaton as agents to sell Hupmobiles motorcars.

In September 1916, William and his father-in-law, Phillip Fowble, built the building at 18 Market Street for automobile sales and service. They sold Hupmobiles, Essex, Hudson, Chevrolet autos and Denby trucks.

William also had the W.L. Apple Trucking Company. In 1923, his trucks hauled most of the gravel needed at the construction of the school on Hill Street.
