Eaton, National Trail each qualify 3 to districts

ST. PARIS & COVINGTON — Eaton and National Trail’s boys wrestling teams each qualified three wrestlers to next weekend’s district tournament.

Eaton competed in the Graham Division II sectional on Saturday, Feb. 24, and finished eighth as a team with 82 points. Host Graham won the team title with 288 points and Ben Logan was second with 219.5.

National Trail competed in the Covington Division III sectional and tied for ninth with 61 points. Tri-County North tied for 14th with nine points.

For Eaton, senior Brayden Deem was second at 144 pounds. Presley Stewart finished second at 190. They will be joined at the district tournament by Elijah Thacker, who placed third at 157.

Also placing, but not advancing was Vincent Trantanella, who was fifth at 165, and Braylen Witt, who was sixth at 285.

For Trail, James Baker finished second at 285. Henry Toschlog was fourth at 157 and Zach Lawson placed fourth at 190.

Zack Creager placed fifth and will be an alternate at the district tournament.

Eaton will compete at the Wilmington district tournament on Friday and Saturday, March 1-2, while National Trail will compete at the Troy district, also on March 1-2.
