Editor:

I urge people to support two candidates for county commissioner.

“Citizen Jane” is Jane Marshall’s slogan on her license plate that describes her well. Jane is a person for whom I have the upmost respect. Jane has been a commissioner in the past, and even when not serving as commissioner, she advocates for the best interests of her fellow Preble County citizens.

Jane is a strong Republican and an unwavering fiscal conservative who will ensure every penny of the county’s coffers will not be wasted, but will be put to its best use for the betterment of the county’s people. Jane’s engineering degree from The Ohio State University enables her to envision a structure of the county that will be to everyone’s benefit. Jane’s sharp, common-sense mind will enable to her to make sound financial decisions, while considering the well-being of Preble County’s citizenry. Jane is unafraid to put people first.

I got to know Jane well through her previous volunteer work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). As a CASA, Jane volunteered her time to advocate for the county’s children who were abused or neglected. Jane was tireless in her advocacy regarding the best interest of the most vulnerable, is tireless in her advocacy as “Citizen Jane”, and will continue to be tireless in her advocacy as a commissioner for the betterment of all of Preble County’s citizens.

Vote Jane Marshall on March 19, 2024, or now with early voting.

Rachael Vonderhaar is a breath of fresh air running for re-election as Preble County Commissioner. I’ve known Rachael for several years as she has dedicated her time to the people of Preble County as commissioner. Previously, I knew Racheal for her dedication as a Court Appointed Special Advocate by being the voice of Preble County children in the Juvenile Justice System who have been abused or neglected.

Rachael is actively involved in numerous agriculture endeavors, including 4-H, FFA, Farm Bureau, and Ohio Agri-Women, serving as the treasurer or legislative officer in many of these organizations. Rachael is also actively involved in the business of farming.

Rachael’s platform is focused on bringing transparency and efficiency to the Preble County Commission Office. Rachael wants what is best for the Preble County citizenry and will go to great lengths to further their interests. I believe she has the experience and financial savvy to bring money into Preble County, recognizing windows of opportunities, whether business opportunities or grant opportunities, to further the interests of Preble County. As commissioner, Rachael is unafraid to put Preble County first.

I urge you to vote for Rachael Vonderhaar for Preble County Commissioner on March 19, 2024. You may vote for her now with early voting.
