GERMANTOWN — The Lady Devils softball team erupted for 12 runs in the top of fifth inning Wednesday to score a 16-2 victory at Valley View.
Madison Cantrell, Jordyn Oliver, and Izzy Holp accounted for five of Brookville’s nine hits while scoring three runs.
Oliver got three hits in four at bats with a double in the fourth inning and two singles in the fifth when the team batted around.
In the 12 run fifth inning the Lady Devils got five hits while Valley View committed three fielding errors. Cantrell drew a bases loaded walk to drive in a run.
Oliver singled to drive in one run. Melina Davidson, Rylan Eagle, and Maya Haydon each drew bases loaded walks to drive in runs. Holp and Oliver each hit two run singles.
Grace Burton earned the victory. She scattered six hits and allowed two runs, one earned, with five strikeouts and two walks over five innings.
Haley Turner took the loss for Valley View. She pitched four and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, striking out four and walking eight.
Haydon, Oliver, and Holp each drove in three runs for Brookville. Davidson got two hits in three at bats. Eagle drew four walks. Overall, the Lady Devils drew a total of 14 walks.
Reese Riley led Valley View with two hits in three at bats and Hayley Duncil went one for two with one RBI.
The Lady Devils are now 3-0 overall. They opened the season with a 4-3 victory over Dixie and an 8-6 victory against Wayne.
