Area track athletes set new records at Dixie invitational

NEW LEBANON — Preble County track and field athletes won six individual events setting three new meet records, at the 4th Annual Dixie Greyhound Invitational on Friday, April 5.

In the team scoring, Twin Valley South’s boys were fourth with 67 points. Eaton was sixth with 60, Preble Shawnee was seventh with 48, National Trail was 10th with 20 and Tri-County North was 11th with 19.

Ansonia won the boys division with 124 points. Oakwood was second with 82.

On the girls’ side, Eaton was fifth with 54 points. Twin Valley South was ninth with 31, National Trail was 10th with 25, Preble Shawnee was 11th with 18 and Tri-County North was 13th with five points.

Oakwood won the girls division with 137 points and Ansonia was second with 108.

Twin Valley South’s boys 4×200 relay team of Brayden Koeller, Seth Vorhis, Clayton Woodgeard and Griffin Roell set a new meet record with a time of 1:37.47. National Trail’s team of Jonah Brinkley, Jody Wintrow, Tayten Reynolds and Korbin Sullivan was fourth in 1:39.81 and Eaton’s team of Quentin Peach, Ryan Burns, Adam Kopf and Jordan Downs was seventh in 1:41.61.

Twin Valley South’s Kelsie Maggard won the 100 hurdles in 17.06 seconds. Eaton’s Ally Schmidt was third in 17.90.

Griffin Roell also won the 800 in a new meet record time of 2:03.51. Eaton’s Wes Kitchin was second in 2:04.61, while Preble Shawnee’s Case Roell was fourth in 2:06.93 and Eaton’s Jack Richardson was eighth in 2:15.11.

Tri-County North’s Clint Barnes tied the high jump record on his way to first place, clearing 6 feet. Eaton’s Elijah Rich was eighth at 5-4.

Eaton’s Carson Shepherd won the boys vault clearing 13-0. Twin Valley South’s Conner Mowell was fourth at 10-6.

In the boys shot put, Preble Shawnee’s Cooper Shrout had a toss of 46-8.5 to win the event. Eaton’s Devon Rader (45-4) was third, Preble Shawnee’s Brody Lynch (44-0.75) was third and National Trail’s Killian O’Conner (42-8) was fifth.

In the girls 4×800 relay, Eaton’s team of Josie Eilerman, Cami McCloud, Brynlee Hamilton and Elise Simmons finished fifth in 12:15.0. National Trail’s team of Molli Deaton, Sydney Whalen, Jocelyn Osborne, and Judith Denlinger was seventh in 12:44 and Preble Shawnee’s foursome of Bella Adkins, Faith Jessie, Regina Rodriguez and Maddie Bourne was eighth in 12:45.

In the boys 4×800, Preble Shawnee’s foursome of Ricky Mondello-Garrett, Jackson Weber, Case Roell and Taylor Bradley finished second in 8:57.13. Eaton’s teams of Aiden Foster, Jack Richardson, Gabe Smith, and Wes Kitchin was sixth in 9:20.28 and Twin Valley South’s team of Samuel DeHart, Hunter Todd, Max Woodgeard and Brayden Childers was eighth in 10:18.49.

In the boys 110 hurdles, Tri-County North’s Colt Barnes was sixth in 17.28.

In the girls 100, Maggard was fourth in 13.88.

In the boys 100, Twin Valley South’s Brayden Koeller was third in 12.04. Preble Shawnee’s Xavier Deaton was seventh in 12.31 and Chase Ruebush of National Trail was eighth in 12.37.

In the girls 4×200, Twin Valley South was fifth in 1:59.2. Eaton (Abbie Schmidt, Kaylee Conley, Madison Proctor and Ally Schmidt) was seventh in 2:01.41 and National Trail (Evie Hoffman, Ollie Mason, Gretchen Murphy and Hannah Henderson) was eighth in 2:01.93.

In the girls 1,600, Tri-County North’s Mylie Myers was seventh in 6:34.16 and Eaton’s Brynlee Hamilton was eighth in 3:35.81.

In the boys 1,600, Case Roell of Preble Shawnee was fifth in 5:04.64 and Eaton’s Michael Fomin was eighth in 5:21.50.

In the girls 4×100, Eaton (Abbie Schmidt, Riley Norton, Proctor and Ally Schmidt) was sixth in 55:87. Preble Shawnee (Aunaleisa Newhart, Autumn Ruble, Sophie Santiago and Lexi Lebsack) was seventh in 57.90 and National Tral (Mason, Jaylin Hurd, Hoffman, Megan Irvin) was eighth in 58.47.

In the boys 4×100, Eaton (Wyatt Sasser, Burns, Kopf and Downs) was third in 47.13 and Twin Valley South (Mason Crews, Vorhis, Nathan Murphy and Conner Mowell) was sixth in 49.72.

In the girls 400, Ashleigh Mondello-Garrett of Preble Shawnee was fourth in 1:08.96.

In the boys 400, Twin Valley South’s Griffin Roell was second in 52.27. Reynolds of NT was fifth in 55.56, Foster of Eaton was sixth in 55.85 and Trail’s Sullivan was eighth in 56.08.

In the girls 300 hurdles, Twin Valley South’s Valen Burkett was fifth with a time of 55.72 and Tri-County North’s Madison Jeffers was sixth in 57.95.

In the boys 300 hurdles, Colt Barnes of TCN was third in 44.12, Clayton Woodgeard of TVS was sixth in 44.90 and Sasser of Eaton was eighth in 45.79.

In the girls 800, Eaton’s Kyeleigh Gifford was fourth in 2:49.67 and Gretchen Murphy of NT was sixth in 2:53.51.

In the girls 200, NT’s Hannah Henderson was eighth in 29.82.

In the boys 200, Koeller of TVS was second in 24.29, Bradley of PS was fifth in 25.07 and Reynolds of NT was seventh in 25.18.

In the girls 3,200, Denlinger and Whaler of Trail finished sixth and seventh with times of 14:53.01 and 14:53.49.

In the boys 3,200, DeHart of TVS was seventh in 11:33.07.

In the girls 4×400, National Trail (Deaton, Henderson, Murphy and Taryn Rucci) was fifth in 5:04.33, Preble Shawnee (Ruble, Madison Moore, Sydni Bruner and Mondello-Garrett) was sixth in 5:06.61 and Eaton (Simmons, Eilerman, Emma Pierce and Myah McCloud) was seventh in 5:10.0

In the boys 4×400, Eaton (Peach, Foster, Richardson and Kitchin) was fourth in 3:48.07 and Twin Valley South (Roell, Koeller, Vorhis and Mowell) was sixth in 3:56.23.

In the girls high jump, Preble Shawnee’s Newhart tied for sixth clearing 4-4, while her teammate Moore finished sixth, also at 4-4.

In the girls long jump, Henderson NT was fifth with leap of 14-10, while Sallie Montgomery of Preble Shawnee was seventh with a jump of 14-3.75.

In the boys long jump, Clayton Woodgeard of TVS was third at 18-7.75, Sasser of Eaton was sixth at 17-10 and Wintrow of NT was seventh at 17-7.

In the girls pole vault, Gifford of Eaton was fifth clearing 7-0 and Kathryn Hall of Preble Shawnee tied for seventh at 6-0.

In the girls shot put, Eaton’s Julianne Deaton was second with a throw of 30-8.75, Delaney Deaton was fourth a 29-3.75 and Brylii Day of Twin Valley South was sixth with a throw of 27-8.

In the girls discus, Delaney Deaton was second with a throw of 99-2, Julianne Deaton was third at 97-6, Clara Meyers of Twin Valley South was fourth at 89-6 and Kaitlin Schweizer of National Trail was fifth at 87-1.

In the boys discus, Rader was second at 123-11, Shrout (120-1) was third, Lynch (114-10) was sixth and Jacob Ditton (114-2) of National Trail was seventh.
