Hodge belts two home runs against Russia

ENGLEWOOD — Due to recent heavy rain the Northmont softball team moved its Saturday game against Russia to the all artificial turf Challenger Field in Englewood’s Centennial Park.

Zoey Hodge belted a pair of home runs and went two for two with three RBIs to help lead the Lady Bolts to a 6-2 victory as Northmont improved to 7-3 overall. Russia fell to 5-1 overall.

Jadyn Johnson also went two for two with one RBI. Adee Kautz went one for two with one run and one RBI. Sydney Strickland went one for two with a stolen base and one run. Emily Bole went one for three.

Johnson pitched four shutout innings and scattered three hits, allowed one walk and struck out two. Kyleigh Gunter pitched three innings in relief and surrendered six hits with two earned runs and two strike outs.
