Tri-County North softball defeats Twin Valley South

WEST ALEXANDRIA — Tri-County North’s softball team pounded out 13 hits Friday during a 7-4 victory at Twin Valley South.

Kassidi Daugherty pitched six and two-thirds innings, allowed one hit, one unearned run, with three walks and eight strike outs. She also went three for three at the plate with a stolen base and scored one run.

Gracie Hemp went two for five with an RBI and one run. Kora Lykins went two for four with two RBIs. Jordan Pinion two for four with two stolen bases and scored twice. Sadie Royer went two for four and scored a run.

Bella Cherry went one for four with a triple and an RBI and scored one run and Chloe Jackson went one for three with a walk and an RBI. Hannah Webster drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and scored one run.

Makenzie Wise led Twin Valley South with two hits in three at bats with an RBI and one run. Kelsie Maggard went one for three with two stolen bases and an RBI and Abby Crouse went one for three.

Ryliee Caldwell had two stolen bases. Maci Arndts had one steal.

Sidnee Elswick took the loss. She pitched four innings, surrendered nine hits, six runs (four earned) with no walks and no strike outs. Hannah Thorpe pitched three innings, scattered four hits, allowed one run with one walk and two strike outs.

With the victory Tri-County North improved to 5-6 overall and 5-0 in Western Ohio Athletic Conference play. Twin Valley South fell to 5-7 and 1-5.

Tri-County North suffered a doubleheader loss Saturday to Versailles by scores of 12-0 and 13-0.
