TVS softball team routs National Trail

NEW PARIS — Twin Valley South scored a 13-3 victory Wednesday at National Trail to secure its first conference victory of the season.

The Lady Panthers held a 3-2 lead entering the fourth inning but scored 10 runs in the final three innings to secure a run-rule victory in six innings.

Ryliee Caldwell led TVS with four hits in five at bats with a home run, a double, one run and five RBIs. Lexi Thompson went two for three with three runs. Abby Crouse went two for five with one run and two RBIs.

Sidnee Elswick went one for five with two runs and a pair of RBIs. Amelia Suggs went one for three and scored three times. Makenzie Wise went one for five. Krystin Monroe went one for three with a run.

Elswick, Suggs, Thompson, and Caldwell each had a stolen base.

Elswick picked up the victory. She pitched six innings, allowed four hits, two earned runs, with one walk and four strike outs.

Carley Hamm led National Trail with two hits in three at bats with two runs and an RBI. Miya Ditmer and Ally Iberra had one hit.

Morgan House took the loss. She pitched five innings, surrendered 10 hits, 11 runs (six earned), with five walks and one strike out.

With the victory Twin Valley South improved to 5-9 overall and 1-6 in conference play. National Trail dropped to 2-12 and 0-7.
