PC Auditor: March receipts up over 2023

EATON — Preble County Auditor Lavon Wright recently shared the county’s financial report for the month ending March 31.

According to Wright, during the month of March, General Fund receipts totaled $3,246,636.38. Sales tax revenue for March totaled $766,898.78 from January sales. Local taxation came in at $42,208.38,charges for services at $312,032.81, interest at $149,905.40, fines and forfeitures at $3,413.16.

The next quarterly casino tax was to arrive in April, Wright reported.

The 1-mill conveyance receipts totaled $13,620.70, and there were no expenditures for the month.

Wright reported the March General Fund disbursements totaled $1,514,928.96, which included salaries, Public Employee Retirement System and Medicare disbursements of $976,657.59, for three pay periods.

Expenditures included supplies, $34,663.16; health insurance, $126,041.80; contract services, $331,427.98; utilities, $12,136.61, and training/travel, advertising/printing, and other expenses, $16,529.30.

The General Fund began 2024 with a cash balance of $13,619,097.63 and ended the month of March with $14,625,835.53, according to Wright.

General Fund receipts for March 2024 increased by $520,894.98 over March 2023, according to Wright’s report. Sales tax increased by $26,298.83, charges for services increased by $30,541.58 and interest increased by $22,294.83.

Expenditures for March 2024 were less than what they were in 2023, by $95,356.75, Wright reported. Supplies increased by $4,579.65, and contracted services increased by $141,968.56. Other expenses decreased by $29,781.66, and equipment decreased by $65,982.84, she noted.
