Eaton 7th, Brookville 8th in girls district meet

TROTWOOD — With 36 points the Eaton girls track team placed 7th, Brookville 8th with 35 and Preble Shawnee 12th at the Southwest District Division II track meet held Thursday and Saturday at Trotwood-Madison High School.

The first four individuals or relay teams in each event in the district tournament qualified for regional competition, which will be held Thursday, May 23 at 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 25 at 11 a.m. at Piqua High School.

Brookville placed 4th in the 4×800 relay (Ballin, Gardner, Tarkany, Barr) in 10:23.94. Eaton (Haynes, Gifford, Guiley, Ellerman) was 6th in 10:39.19 and Preble Shawnee (Whitson, Adkins, Jessie, Bourne) was 8th in 12:40.18.

Mallory Hoover (Brookville) placed 3rd in the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches. Madison Moore (Shawnee) was 7th at 4 feet, 6 inches. Aunaleisa Newhart (Shawnee) was 10th at 4 feet, 6 inches. Kenli Romine (Brookville) 13th at 4 feet, 4 inches. Jillian Ditmer (Eaton) was 15th at 4 feet, 4 inches.

Julianne Deaton (Eaton) took 1st (34 feet, 10 inches) and Delaney Deaton (Eaton) 3rd (31 feet, 2.25 inches) in the shot put. Megan Luebke (Brookville) was 7th at 27 feet, 8 inches. Sara Rhoades (Brookville) was 10th at 26 feet, 8.75 inches. Cassie Lykins (Shawnee) was 11th at 25 feet, 6.75 inches. Alexus Smythe (Shawnee) was 16th at 21 feet, 9 inches.

Brookville (Ballin, Gardner, Tarkany, Barr) placed 4th in the 4×800 in 10:23.94. Eaton (Haynes, Gifford, Guiley, Eilerman) placed 6th in 10:39.19 while Shawnee (Whitson, Adkins, Jessie, Bourne) was 8th in 12:40.18.

Brookville’s Chloe Poppaw was 7th (18.33 seconds) and Alyssa Lackey was 8th (19.37) in the 100 meter hurdles.

Brooke Puskas (Brookville) was 8th in the 100 meter dash in 13.80 seconds.

Hunter Gardner (Brookville) was 6th (5:48.65), Brynlee Hamilton (Eaton) 9th (5:57.88), Emma Pierce (Eaton) 12th (6:35.45), Bella Adkins (Shawnee) 13th (6:36.85), Lindsay Rieder (Brookville) 15th (6:49.68), and Faith Jessie (Shawnee) 16th (7:04.98) in the 1600 meter run.

Brookville (Hoover, Puskas, Schuman, Luebke) placed 6th in the 4×100 relay in 52.48 seconds.

Logan Barr (Brookville) placed 5th in the 300 hurdles in 50.15 seconds.

Emily Haynes (Eaton) was 8th (2:37.45), Hunter Gardner (Brookville) 9th (2:41.79), Bella Adkins (Shawnee) 14th (2:59.58), Ali Davis (Eaton) 15th (3:05.65), Savannah Young (Brookville) 17th (3:10.44), and Maddie Bourne (Shawnee) 20th (3:24.82) in the 800 meter run.

Dylan Ballin (Brookville) placed 4th in the 3200 meter run in 12:06.20. Cami McCloud (Eaton) was 9th (14:12.30), Josie Eilerman (Eaton) 10th (14:16.01), and Faith Jessie (Shawnee) 13th (17:25.16).

Brookville (Barr, Haupt, Peters, Wilson) placed 6th in the 4×400 relay in 4:19.55.

Sally Montgomery (Shawnee) placed 2nd in the long jump at 15 feet, 10.5 inches. Lexi Lebsack (Shawnee) was 7th (14 feet, 8.75 inches). Elise Simmons (Eaton) was 11th (14 feet even). Logan Barr (Brookville) was 15th (13 feet, 2.25 inches). Ava Peters (Brookville) 16th (13 feet, 2.25 inches). Abbie Schmidt (Eaton) 17th (12 feet, 10 inches).

Eaton’s Delaney Deaton took 1st (115 feet, 3 inches) and Julianna Deaton 3rd (103 feet, 10 inches) in the discus. Megan Luebke (Brookville) was 11th (75 feet, 1 inch). Beth Nemeth (Shawnee) was 15th (66 feet, 8 inches). Sara Rhoades (Brookville) was 16th (62 feet, 9 inches).

Kathryn Hall (Shawnee) was 6th in the pole vault at 7 feet, 6 inches.
