Eaton FFA Officer retreat a success
The Eaton MVCTC FFA Chapter held their officer retreat on June 28-29. At the retreat, the officers discussed their goals for the chapter and what they would like to see it do. To achieve their goals, the team came up with activities for the chapter to get involved in and assigned one to each of the 15 committees in the chapter. The officers also came up with a tentative program of activities for the year including the activities discussed earlier. The officer team was also given a chance to bond through activities led by their FFA advisor, Mrs. Holbrook, and by spending time together, whether it was at the campfire or by cooking meals for the team. The officer team is looking forward to a great year and hopes that all members will grow personally and that the chapter will make a lasting impact in the community.
Students attend Ohio FFA Camp
Eaton MVCTC FFA Chapter students Emily Puckett, Tarah Tadlock, Jonathon Bronson, and Katelyn Niehaus attended FFA Camp Muskingum from June 20-24. They all thoroughly enjoyed their time and experiences at camp. While there, the students were able to attend workshops put on by FFA State Officers, learn about leadership from a guest speaker, enjoy nature and activities such as sporting, boating, and swimming during free time, and compete in various activities to earn points for their camp chapters. Emily competed in the Camp Creed Public Speaking Contest to earn points for her chapter and Jonathon competed in the trapshooting activity, placing third overall. These students also made many new friends with FFA members from across the state during camp. They all agreed that camp was a great experience that helped them each to grow individually and was also a very fun week of their summer!
