EATON — Braeden Borgwardt is a 4th grade elementary student at Eaton Community Schools who took it upon herself to send out donation letters for Home is the Foundation (HIT Foundation) and raised money for their programs and services.

Through these donation letters, she raised $241 for the HIT Foundation.

“Her idea stemmed in lieu of a school project. Braeden has learned about the needs in the community and individuals in Preble County that are in need of clothing, food, affordable housing options and even shelter, so Braeden wanted to make a difference,” Kelsie Richardson, Program/Grants Management Coordinator at the HIT Foundation, said.

“It is amazing to see the compassion and drive of young children, like Braeden, in our community to help those in need. All funds raised by Braeden will directly support the H.I.T. Foundation programs and services, supporting our mission that everyone in Preble County should have a decent place to live.”
