Blue Devils rout Valley View 11-3

GERMANTOWN — Brookville committed three errors but generated nine hits and 11 runs Wednesday to defeat Valley View 11-3.

The Blue Devils took a 4-0 lead in the top of the second inning. The Spartans rallied with three runs in the bottom of the second, but could not generate another run after that.

Braden Chambers earned the victory on the mound for the Blue Devils. He pitched five innings, scattered three hits, gave up one earned run with three walks and five strikeouts. Lane Willoughby worked two innings in relief and gave up one hit, no runs and struck out three.

Chambers also had a big day at the plate going 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two stolen bases, scored three runs and had two RBIs. Brandon Waggoner went 2-for-4 with a double, one run and two RBIs.

Sam Fullenkamp went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. Jace Wood went 1-for-2 with a stolen base, two runs and two RBIs. Hunter Gray went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Nathan Waggoner went 1-for-2 and scored a run. Kayde Baker scored a run and had one RBI on a sacrifice fly.

With the victory Brookville improved to 13-7 overall and 4-5 in the Southwestern Buckeye League. Valley View fell to 9-12 overall and 5-5 in the SWBL.
