Northmont tennis defeats West Carrollton

CLAYTON — With a 5-0 victory Wednesday over non-conference opponent West Carrollton, the Northmont girls varsity tennis team improved to 9-2 overall.

Lily Braswell scored a 6-0, 6-2 victory at first singles over Amber Hudepohl.

At second singles Erin Kelsey walked away with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Deja Glover.

Tyler Buxton defeated Kennedy Steele at third singles 6-1, 6-4.

In first doubles action Kennedi Robinson and Makayla Hibbard defeated Autumn Brewer and Payten Agee 6-2, 6-1.

Second doubles saw Bridget Scranton and Addison Wilson score a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Kristen Barnett and Shelby Guntle 6-1, 6-1.

“West Carrollton is the favorite to win the Miami Valley League south division. We had to play well to get the win,” said Northmont coach Joe Haupt.

In JV play Madison Evan and Meleeyah Milliner won their doubles match and in singles Hailey Wheeler and Miracle Akpan both posted victories.
