BROOKVILLE — City manager Sonja Keaton is asking residents to dispose of any leaves with their the weekly trash until the city begins its annual leaf pick-up service.

Keaton noted the city will begin collecting leaves on Monday, Oct. 16.

Keaton indicated once the leaf collection process begins the service department will collect the leaves on a daily basis.

“The pickup begins at one end of the city and works all the way to the other end before we start that route all over again,” Keaton said.

When the city’s leaf collection service begins, Keaton advised residents to place the leaves in the street six inches way from the curb.

“Make sure leaves are not under, between or around parked vehicles,” Keaton said.

Keaton also asked residents not to mix yard waste with the leaves.

“Grass, sticks, brush or spent flowers clog the vacuum,” Keaton explained.
