PC grand jury issues indictments

EATON — A California man arrested earlier this month after a traffic stop on Interstate 70 led to the discovery of approximately $750,000 in drugs was indicted by a Preble County grand jury during its Tuesday, Nov. 7, session.

Mustafa Totakhail of 1585 Welford Circle, Hayward, California, was indicted on charges including aggravated trafficking in drugs with specification, aggravated possession of drugs with specification, possession of marijuana with specification, trafficking in marijuana with specification, possessing criminal tools, signals before turning or stopping, and space between moving vehicles.

On Monday, Oct. 23, at approximately 10:19 a.m., Preble County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a grey Toyota minivan on eastbound I-70 for traffic violations. During the contact with the driver (Totakhail) criminal indicators were present and a K-9 unit from Eaton Police Division responded to the stop. K-9 Rossi alerted to the vehicle, according to a PCSO press release. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, approximately 246 pounds of packaged marijuana and approximately four pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, which is a hallucinogen, were located, according to the release. Total estimated street value of the drugs was estimated at $750,000.

During the investigation, Totakhail told officers he was traveling from Texas to North Carolina to sell the drugs, officials said.

The grand jury also issued the following indictments on Tuesday, Nov. 7:

Larry Joe Harshbarger, 323 E. Main Street, Eaton, breaking and entering, breaking and entering, grand theft of a motor vehicle, theft, misuse of credit cards, robbery with firearm specification, robbery with firearm specification, aggravated robbery with firearm specification and aggravated robbery with firearm specification; Courtney B. Ballou, 5125 Carthage Avenue, #2 Cincinnati, possession of heroin, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them — OVI.

Also: Stephenie Marie Moneymaker, 215 High Street Eaton, possession of heroin and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia; Kathleen M. Enyeart, 1801 W. Market Street, Trlr. 8, Logansport, Indiana, trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present, trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present, aggravated menacing and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia; Kristen Jean Hacker, 115 E. Mechanic Street, Eaton, receiving stolen property and aggravated possession of drugs.

Also: Samuel Pierce Holben, 6110 43rd Ave., Hyattsville, Maryland, aggravated possession of drugs with specification, possessing criminal tools, possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia; Tina M. Marker, 301 Quinn Road, West Alexandria, aggravated possession of drugs, having weapons while under disability with specification, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle with a hidden compartment used to transport a controlled substance and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and Jacob Andrew Scott Johnson, 315 Lexington Avenue, Eaton, possession of drugs and criminal trespass.
