Dale breaks school record at Butler Invite

VANDALIA — Junior captain Jerrin Dale broke a 7-year-old Northmont swim team record Dec. 16 during the Butler Holiday Invitational at Wright State University.

Dale set a new team record in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.10. He broke the previous record held by Justin Parrett of 1:01.62.

He had an outstanding meet placing 1st in both of his individual events and recording personal best times as well. In the 200 Freestyle, Dale’s winning time was 1:49.05.

The boys team placed 5th scoring 180 points out of 13 teams. Highlights on the boys side:

Sophomore Javier Pfeiler was 1st overall in the 50 freestyle and 2nd in the 100 freestyle.

The 200 medley relay took 3rd place with Javier Pfeiler, Jerrin Dale, Harrison Davis, CJ Ketcham.

The 400 freestyle relay was 4th with Javier Pfeiler, CJ Ketcham, Harrison Davis, and Jerrin Dale.

In the 500 freestyle Harrison Davis was 7th and Alex Pfeiler 9th.

In the 100 backstroke Harrison Davis took 7th place.

Boy’s swimmer of the week was Jerrin Dale who had two personal best times in the 100 breaststroke and 200 freestyle along with breaking his first school record of his high school career.

The girls team scored 154 points placing 6th out of 11 teams. Some highlights on the Lady Bolts side:

400 freestyle relay consisting of Abigail Weeks, Abby Young, Macy Fitzwater, anmd Adi Lowe tied for 3rd place.

200 medley relay placed 7th with Adi Lowe, Abby Young, Abigail Weeks, and Macy Fitzwater.

Adi Lowe placed 8th and Abigail Weeks 11th in the 200 freestyle.

50 freestyle saw Macy Fitzwater place12th.

Abigail Weeks was 12th in the100 fly.

Macy Fitzwater was 10th in the 100 freestyle.

Abby Young took 7th in the 300 freestyle.

Adi Lowe placed 7th in the 100 backstroke and Amani Blake was12th.

The girl’s swimmer of the week was Anna Notaro who had personal best times in the 50 freestyle and dropping 9 seconds in the 100 freestyle.

The Thunderbolts will be back in the pool on Saturday, Jan. 6 to compete in the Tipp City Invitational at the Trotwood Aquatic Center.
