Shawnee places 4th at Edgewood Invite

TRENTON — Preble Shawnee placed 4th, Brookville 7th, and Northmont 8th at the annual Edgewood Wrestling Invitational held Friday and Saturday.

Shawnee senior Riley Stevenson took 1st place at 190 pounds by scoring a 13-6 decision over Devin Isaac of Norwood in the championship match.

The Arrows took 2nd at 132 pounds where junior Nolan Earles lost by a 12-3 major decision to Jayden Cochran of Miamisburg.

Senior Garrett Campbell placed 3rd at 175 pounds with a 10-8 decision over Diyorbek Eshnazarov of Kings.

Junior John Nestor lost a close 3-2 decision to Brady Willman of Miamisburg to place 4th at 144 pounds.

At 165 pounds sophomore Bryson Doran captured 5th place with a pin of 4:59 against senior Kaden Sarbaugh of Madison.

Shawnee tallied 139 points to place 4th in the 25 team field. Great Crossing took 1st with 204, Miamisburg 2nd with 191, with Edgewood 3rd with 147.

Brookville placers

Luke Dolan, a senior, took 1st place at 150 pounds with an 8-3 decision over senior Zeran Brady of Valley View.

At 106 pounds junior Hayden Jones took 3rd place with an 8-7 decision over senior Aluma Enwa of Great Crossing (Kentucky).

Colton Harris, a junior, placed 5th at 138 pounds, winning by forfeit over senior Jacob Means of Great Crossing.

Hunter Gibson, a junior, placed 6th at 113 pounds after losing by a 13-5 major decision to Brayden Orick of Carlisle.

Senior Branson Esterline placed 6th at 157 pounds after losing a 4-1 decision to sophomore Andrew Trapp of Kings.

Sophomore Lucas Horn placed 6th at 175 pounds, losing by a fall (1:47) to senior Kenneth McAdams of Lakota East.

Brookville scored 116 team points to place 7th overall just behind 6th place Simon Kenton with 118.5 points.

Northmont placers

Sophomore Landon McCargish took 1st place at 144 pounds with a 10-6 decision over junior Isaiah Nichols of Edgewood. As a freshman, McCargish compiled a 39-13 record with 21 pins.

Marcos Velasquez, a senior, lost a close 6-5 decision to senior Austin Holman of Milford to place 2nd at 175 pounds.

Senior Noah Allen placed 6th at 132 pounds after losing by a fall (0:38) to freshman Kason Dill of Alter.

Charlie Henson, a junior, placed 6th at heavyweight after dropping a close 2-1 decision to senior Jay Taylor of Middletown.

Northmont scored 111.5 team points to place 8th four points ahead of ninth place Alter.
