T’bolts extend win streak to three

SPRINGFIELD — Trailing by a basket at Springfield Jan. 5, Northmont outscored the Wildcats 34-21 in the second half to post a 58-47 conference victory, its third straight.

B.J. Hatcher led the Thunderbolts with 20 points while Javen Vaughn had 10. Da’lin Wilkins blocked six shots and snared eight rebounds to help lead Northmont to victory.

The Thunderbolts shot 50 percent from the field and sank seven of 15 from the foul line.

C.J. Wallace paced the Wildcats with 12 points including a trio of three-point field goals and also led the team with seven rebounds. The Wildcats shot 37.7 percent (20-53) and made four of 11 from the foul line.

The victory came on the heels of a 59-47 non-conference win at Sidney on Jan. 3, Northmont’s first game after the Christmas break.

Da’lin Wilkins had a double-double at Sidney with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Cameron Tyree hit all four of his shot attempts, including a pair of trifectas to finish with 10 points and three steals.

Leading Sidney was A’zon Steele with 19 points with Julius Spradling and Jayce Daniel tossing in 10 each.
