Blue Devils run past Panthers

LEWISBURG — Brookville used a series of runs to down the Tri-County North Panthers 67-29 Saturday in Lewisburg. Brookville is now 10-5 and North drops to 1-13 on the season.

Brookville jumped out to a quick lead of 16-3 before the Panthers bounced back to get to within three points. Brookville extended its advantage to 20-13 after the first quarter.

Braedan Smart scored six points in the quarter for the Blue Devils. Three Devils tallied four points, Brendan Fisher, Jace Wood and Keegan Mehr. Logan Flory had five for North and Clint Barnes and Travis Williams four points each.

North scored the first basket of the second period and then Brookville scored 13 straight to lead 33-20 at the half.

Smart and Woods each had six markers for Brookville. Brayden Dawson, Logan Flory and Peyton Fannin each had a basket in the quarter for the Panthers.

In the third stanza Brookville outscored the Panthers 27-7 to take total control of the game. Many of Brookville points came off fast breaks in the period as Brookville literally ran the entire quarter.

Fisher had seven, Smart added four and Wood had 12 points for Brookville in the frame. Logan Flory had three for TCN. The score was 60-27 after the quarter ended.

Early in the fourth period Brookville went up by 35 points and the running clock rule went into effect. The final score was 67-29. Braedan Smart scored all the Blue Devils markers in the stanza. Logan Flory got the only two points for North.

North was led by Flory with 12 points. Clint Barnes added five and Travis Williamson four points.

Brookville shot 52.8 percent making 28 of 53 shots including two/ten from three-point land. Brookville had 13 assists, 19 steals, and 28 rebounds.

Individual stats show Braedan Smart had a career game with 23 points, snagged three rebounds and had a pair of steals. Jace Wood scored 24 points with five rebounds and four steals.

Brendan Fisher scored 11 points, grabbed seven rebounds, had two assists and three steals. Keegan Mehr had four points and three blocked shots. Dom King scored three points, had five assists, four steals, and three rebounds. Cole Crabtree had two points.
