All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sunday, March 31, Brookville 2400088: William J. Chasteen, 39, of Brookville, was charged with disorderly conduct and transported to the county jail.

Tuesday, April 2, Brookville 2400092: A resident reported that she was alerted by LifeLock Identity Protection that someone had opened a financial account using her Social Security number. The resident stated she had not suffered any financial loss and that her accounts were secure.

Clayton 240000345: Police responded to Wolf Creek Apartments on the report of a female subject firing a gun in the air. Two shell casings were found and collected by police. Due to conflicting accounts of what happened, no charges were filed.

Wednesday, April 3, Brookville 2400093: Anthony E. Thomas, 41, of Brookville, was arrested on two warrants, one for telecommunications fraud and one for grand theft out of Muskingum County. He was transported to the county jail.

Clayton 240000346: A resident of Rahway Court was scammed out of more than $14,807 by a subject claiming to be with Norton LifeLock. The resident discovered a charge for $32 on her Fifth/Third Bank account from Norton LifeLock. She looked up a phone number on the Internet that was a scam phone number for LifeLock. She called the number and the male subject she spoke to told her there were five people on the dark web that were associated to her accounts that needed to be blocked. He instructed her to make wire transfers to catch the subjects. After making the transfers she contacted her financial institutions and was informed that they would not be able to refund her money.

Clayton 240000347: Ryan M. Sharp, 32, of Clayton 45415, was arrested on two warrants for probation violations and was transported to the county jail.

Thursday, April 4, Brookville 2400095: Brandy M. Hatmaker, 44, of Brookville, was arrested on a warrant issued by Brookville Police for aggravated menacing and was transported to the county jail.

Clayton 240000349: A 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe was stolen from the 7200 block of Pepperton Ct. The victim stated the keys to her vehicle were in the vehicle after they fell out of her purse. Surveillance cameras revealed a white Ford Explorer occupied by four male subjects pulled up to the victim’s house at 3:50 a.m. and stole the Santa Fe. The Ford Explorer the suspects arrived in was possibly stolen out of Carlisle.
