LEWISBURG — Chloe Jackson hit a single in the bottom of the eighth inning Tuesday to drive in Kora Lykins with the winning run to lift the Lady Panthers softball team to a 2-1 victory over Franklin Monroe.

The Lady Jets took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning. With the bases loaded Lila Davis got hit by a pitch to force in Jozlynn Wintrow.

Tri-County North tied it in the bottom of the fifth. Sadie Royer was intentionally walked to lead off the inning and Kasidi Daugherty followed with a bunt. A high throw to first that sailed into right field foul territory enabled Royer to score with Daugherty making it all the way to third base.

The game remained tied after seven innings. In the top of the seventh Olivia Sease hit a leadoff single to center for Franklin Monroe but a fly out, a fielder’s choice and pop up to shortstop ended the threat.

In the bottom of the eighth Lykins reached base on a dropped pop fly to the pitcher. Jordan Pinion drew a walk and Jackson singled to right to score Lykins from second base.

Daugherty earned the victory for TCN. She pitched eight innings, allowed six hits, one run (not earned), walked three and struck out 11.

Keihl Johnson took the loss for Franklin Monroe. She worked seven and two-thirds innings, allowed five hits, two runs (none earned) with two walks and nine strike outs.

Sease went two for four and Davis went one for three with an RBI to lead Franklin Monroe.

Daugherty led TCN by going three for three with an RBI. Lykins went two for three with one run.

With the victory the Lady Panthers improved to 3-6 overall and 3-0 in Western Ohio Athletic Conference play. Franklin Monroe fell to 3-11 and 2-2 in conference play.
