Brookville boys place 4th at Wayne Invite

TROY — Renovations at Wayne’s Heidkamp Stadium resulted in the annual Wayne Invitational being relocated to Troy Memorial Stadium for the two day meet held Thursday and Friday.

The Wayne boys team took 1st place with 117 points. Westerville North was 2nd with 75, Beavercreek 3rd with 46 and Brookville 4th with 38 in a field of 54 teams. Northmont tied for 49th, or last place, with six other schools.

Centerville girls took 1st place with 86 points followed by Wayne with 71, Beavercreek with 62, Waynesville with 46 and Waynesville with 46 to take 5th. Northmont’s girls team finished 13th with 20 points in a field of 43 teams.

Coy Hyre of Brookville took 1st place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.48 seconds with Jamier Averette-Brown of Wayne 2nd at 10.53. Kailb Haynesworth of Northmont finished 14th at 11.26. The meet record was set by Brandon Saine of Piqua in 2006 with a time of 10.34.

Hyre placed 2nd in the 200 meter dash in 21.56 seconds behind Everette-Brown in 21.37. Nick Gray of Pickerington North set the meet record in 2015 at 21.09.

Kory Davis of Brookville placed 2nd in the 110 meter high hurdles in 14.43 seconds. Logan Wilkins of Fairmont took 1st at 14.28. Jason Hodges of Wayne set the meet record in 2002 at 13.50.

Davis placed 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles in 39.93 seconds behind Liam Gluck of Beavercreek (38.55) and Sopuluchi Anosike of Centerville (39.04). Northmont’s Eli Pettis finished 18th (43.06) and Shay Edwards was 29th (44.28). Luke Norris of Lebanon set the meet record in 2010 at 37.10.

Brookville placed 4th in the 4×100 meter relay (Adams, Kidwell, Davis, Hyre) in 43.04 seconds. Wayne was 1st in 42.15, Fairmont 2nd in 42.84 and Kings 3rd in 42.97. Northmont finished 15th in 44.51. Wayne set the meet record in 1999 with a time of 41.80.

Jonathan Warren if Northmont finished 16th in the 400 meter dash in 51.27 and Daniel Ivory 32nd in 53.51. Kaden Ellerbe was 1st in 47.53. Brandon Saine (Piqua) set the meet record of 46.80 in 2006.

Daron Porter (Northmont) finished 9th in the 800 meter run in 1:57.21 while Lucas Tipton (Brookville) finished 21st at 2:00.15. Meet record Dustin Horter (Lakota East) 1:50.73 in 2018.

Brookville (Mehr, Adams, Hyre, Moore) placed 8th in the 4×400 meter relay in 3:32.01. Beavercreek took 1st in 3:18.74. Meet record 3:18.12 (Mason) in 2015.

Jackson Morgret (Northmont) finished 37th (10:34.52) in the 3200 meter run. Meet record 9:26.46 Charles Guerrera of Dublin Jerome (2023).

Northmont placed 8th in the 4×110 shuttle hurdle relay in 1:08.65. Wayne took 1st in 1:03.23. Meet record 58.52 by Dunbar (2012).

Brookville (Tipton, Pentecost, Wright, Stammen) finished 12th (8:43.62) in the 4×800 relay. Lancaster took 1st in 8:00.24. Meet record 7:53.73 Westerville North (2012).

Xavier Stacy (Brookville) finished 9th in the shot put at 48-feet, 0.75-inches. Turner Schmidt of Hilliard Davidson took 1st at 54-feet, 1-inch. Charlie Henson (Northmont) was 36th at 39-feet, 8.75-inches, and Ike Nwanoro (Northmont) 46th at 32-feet, 4.75-inches. Meet record Jimmy Pacifico (Butler) 68-feet, 11.5-inches (2007).

Henson (Northmont) finished 18th in the hammer throw at 108-feet, 9-inches. Levi Glassmeyer (Miami East) took 1st at 177-feet, 10-inches. Meet record Justin Welch (Pemberville Eastwood) 245-feet, 4-inches (2010).

Trevon Rowe (Northmont) finished 14th in the long jump at 19-feet, 10.25-inches. William Baumann (Westerville North) was 1st at 21-feet, 9.5-inches. Meet record Jaeschel Acheampong (Olentangy Orange) 23-feet, 1-inch (2019).

Dylan Ballin (Brookville) placed 1st in the Rising Stars 3200 meter run on Thursday in 12:12.34.

Juliana Gunn (Northmont) placed 5th in the long jump at 16-feet, 4.75-inches. Meet record Erin Busbee (Cleveland Collinwood) 19-feet, 11.75-inches (2010).

Amelia Brown (Northmont) finished 16th in the Rising Stars 1600 meter run in 5:48.47 while teammate Briana Pressel was 27th at 5:58.24. Meet record Lauren Zanotelli (Miamisburg) 5:16.89 (2022).

Northmont’s Jakayla Waddell placed 3rd in the 400 meter dash in 59.82 while Zoey Evers finished 34th in 1:05.65. Meet record Sydnee Sinn (Wayne Trace) 55.48 (2023).

Victoria Odole (Northmont) placed 9th in the 100 meter dash in 12.44 seconds. Meet record Azariyah Bryant (Lakota East) 11.78 (2022).
