CLAYTON — Northmont swept a doubleheader Saturday against Eaton by scores of 6-2 and 11-0.
In the first game Northmont scored one run in the third and five in the fifth inning. Kyleigh Gunter led off the fifth with a double to right and reached third when Victoria Bickerstaff hit a bunt single. Bickerstaff stole second.
Sydney Strickland reached on an infield hit to score Gunter with Bickerstaff advancing to third. Lacie Knick got an infield hit to load the bases. Morgan Pendleton drew a walk to score Vickerstaff. Strickland scored on a passed ball.
With two outs Adee Kautz hit a triple to score Knick and Pendleton.
Eaton got both its runs in the top of the sixth. Ella Statzer got hit by a pitch and Maddyn Davis drew a walk. Meredith Pieratt hit into a 1-5 fielder’s choice with Statzer thrown out at third. Hannah Redick hit a single down the right field line to score Davis and Pieratt.
Jadyn Johnson earned the victory for Northmont. She pitched six innings, allowed two hit and two runs with three walks and nine strike outs.
In game two Adee Kautz went three for three with two runs and an RBI. Strickland went two for three with two runs and three RBIs. Zoey Hodge went one for two with a run and two RBIs. Pendleton went one for three with two runs. Lacie Knick went one for three with a run and one RBI.
Gunter and Zoey Anyanwu teamed up to pitch the shutout. Gunter pitched three innings with no hits, runs, or walks with two strike outs. Anyanwu pitched two innings, allowed one hit and one walk with four strike outs.
