Community Fun Fest returning next month

EATON — On Saturday, June 15, Downtown Eaton will host it’s third annual free “Community Fun Fest,” and organizers say it will be the best ever.

From 4-8 p.m., downtown Eaton will come alive with a carnival/street fair atmosphere to delight all ages. There will be games, vendors and food trucks, children’s inflatables, live music from Tyler Michael Walton and the Mayflower Satchel — and even a chance to zipline down Main Street. Other activities are expected to be added.

This year’s Community Fun Fest coincides with the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure group’s stay in Eaton at the Preble County Fairgrounds for this year’s GOBA ride. Over 1,500 riders from across the country have registered for that ride so far, according to officials, and those individuals are being bused downtown for the party.

“We received lots of compliments about DEI’s Community Fun Fest last year,” City of Eaton Community Development Specialist Leslie Collins said in a press release. “It is a nice way for local families to just spend quality time together having fun, and with guests in town with GOBA, downtown will be hopping!”

Vendor spots are still available for this event, as well as volunteer opportunities, according to organizers. Anyone wanting to volunteer can email [email protected], according to Collins. Vendors can call 937-680-8199 for more information.
