EATON — On Wednesday, March 15, Al Gearhart, the “Burn Boss,” and more than 15 other conservationists operated a large prescribed prairie burn at the Preble County Historical Society & Nature Reserve on Swartsel Road off Ohio 122 South.

CAMDEN — Construction for an intersection improvement project on U.S. 127 at Ohio 725 (West Central Avenue) in Camden is scheduled to begin, and lane restrictions will go into effect, at the end of this month.

BROOKVILLE — City manager Sonja Keaton reminded both council and the park board of the annual community park clean-up day scheduled for Saturday, March 25, from 10 a.m. until noon.

BROOKVILLE - City manager Sonja Keaton informed council the city received funds from the Ohio Emergency Management Agency that will be used to pay the city’s portion of last year’s tree debris removal project behind the city’s wastewater treatment plant located on South Wolf Creek St.

COLUMBUS — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost filed a 58-count civil lawsuit in federal court this week seeking to hold Norfolk Southern financially responsible for the Feb. 3 train derailment in East Palestine that caused the release of over 1 million gallons of hazardous chemicals, “recklessly endangering” both the health of area residents and Ohio’s natural resources.
