WEST ALEXANDRIA — The Twin Valley Schools Board of Education held its monthly meeting on Monday, April 24. The board reviewed for approval a contract for bidding the new bus facility project, a vote which was tabled during the Monday, March 20, meeting.

BROOKVILLE — In September 1944, the Stanley Manufacturing Company of Dayton, rented the D.C. Albert Leaf Tobacco warehouse at the west end of Baker Street and began to manufacture moisture proof paper bags on a government contract.

LEWISBURG – The Lewisburg Comic-Con hosted its second flea market fundraiser, Sunday, April 23, at the Lewisburg Community Center on East Clay Street.

CAMDEN — During recent Camden Village Council meetings, residents have petitioned council to revise and amend village ordinance #664, section C, which pertains to livestock within village limits. In its current state, the ordinance prohibits village residents from owning, keeping or caring for any livestock or “farm” animal within Camden.

NEW PARIS — Preble Players will present “On Golden Pond” by Ernest Thompson on Saturday, June 3, and Sunday, June 4, at 2 pm. Directed by Bonnie Bertelson, this American classic is staged outdoors, surrounded by nature, using the pond at Camp Mahanaim in New Paris as a backdrop.
